“The Pond”

David Soderberg’s sculpture “The Pond” is the first in a series that explores the unique merging of equine and human forms. “The Pond” features the image of a young woman enjoying an afternoon swim alongside her favorite horse. The two drift in the waters of the pond, seemingly asleep.
To empower this sculpture with character, life, and vibrancy, David Soderberg works to create the illusion that there is no support, mount, or base. “The goal is to create art that jumps out at you with a life of its own, to see beyond the commonplace to something wonderful….”
