“Silver Buffalo 5”

“In graduate school, Gene began to create jewelry as a 3-D challenge as well as to earn extra money. Over the years, when he had spare time he created jewelry. He had an old metal toolbox that he referred to as his “box of tricks” and in it, he stored jewelry wax, bits of unused silver and gold, old sterling silver forks and spoons that he melted for casting stock, and semi-precious stones… There was never enough time for him to do all of the projects that he planned.

The Tobey bear, buffalo, and eagle are miniature versions of the larger sculptures. All of them were created in open editions. There are also a number of other animals available as charms and as charm earrings.”
