“Self-Forgiveness”
Bill Worrell

When a fellow being mistreats you
Abuses you
Wounds your spirit
Deceives you
Betrays you
Do not seek vengeance
Do not attempt to mete out retribution

Consider that you might have likewise erred
At some time or another
Thus, you should forgive that person
Yet do not forget
Lest you become twice that person’s victim

Rather, simply forgive
You must come to realize that you
Might have created even greater offensives
Against your own self
Even if unknowingly

Thus, you must learn also
To forgive your own self
For the offensives you might have created for your self

Strive to serve humanity
And be ever mindful that
You are a part of the humanity you attempt to serve
