The story of the Seed Corn Carrier started a long time ago when a very tired women came to the village carrying a pot with a small round opening in the center. It was called a Seed Pot. She came from a long journey and had asked the Chief if she could find rest in his home. She had also asked him to find the first person he sees to take the seeds from her Seed Pot and plant them.
A few weeks had past and the village started noticing they had discovered a new crop to which they were very thankful for. A crop which they would soon find to be apart of their ceremonies and prayers and a vast part of their lives. When they went to thank the woman who had brought them the seeds, they noticed she had vanished.No one known where she came from or where she went. But she is forever remembered to the Hopi people as the Seed Corn Carrier.
