I will not use my last breath
To inventory my assets
Or to count my money

I will not use my last breath
To speak of my accomplishments
Should I have any

Nor will I use my last breath
To ask why we are born
Live so briefly
And then die—
Sometimes with suffering

With my last breath I will call to my friends
Gather them around me
Tell them how much I love them
And with my last breath
Thank them for being a part of my life
And enriching my soul
