“Monica’s Vision”

by: Gene & Rebecca Tobey

$31,000.00

“In 1998, our good friends contacted us on behalf of a friend who wanted a special piece created to honor his late wife… Monica had always said that if she ever hit the lottery, she would have a herd of Tobey buffalos on her front lawn.

We created Monica’s Vision in honor of our deceased admirer. The sgraffito drawings on the buffalo’s body represent the herd of buffalo Monica always wanted. There is also a hand, representing the effect her life had upon the community of Fort Collins. People encircle the lower portion of the piece, representing all of the people who loved her. We installed the piece at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins, where the entire community enjoys it.”
