“Lullaby For War”
Bill Worrell

I wish I could write a song
Or some songwriter would
A song to end all war
A song to create brotherhood

A song about a world
United for the common good
A song to make every soul
Live by the golden rule

Oh what a song
That song would be
A new world anthem
For every race and creed

Oh what a song
That song would be
A song of love and joy
A song of unending peace

What lyrics can we pen?
What notes do we need?
To write the words and music
That will soothe war’s savage beast

Some melody to sing
Some shaman’s drum to beat
Some lullaby to lull
War into eternal sleep

Oh what a song
That song would be
A song to make all war
Forever go to sleep

Oh what a song
That song would be
That song would be
Oh let it be
Oh let it be
