“The Swan is shown as a stylized bird form, its alter ego is the human face represented in the belly or center of the bird. The bird with the mask depicts the Mother or Wife. While the six sisters or children are represented as feather designs on the inside of the wings; the feathers are her sisters or in the second legend her children. She is a changeling; the swan totem represents grace, beauty, good fortune and inner knowing. In many parts of the world the swan is a considered to be symbol of light.”
