“Discovery Shelter”
Bill Worrell
My footprints alone
Where I softly tread
Where Ancients sleep
Neath peaceful sands
Entered I into this space
Total awe sacred place
Painted images on walls of stone
Secret stories to me made known
My lips sealed as I took leave
Hid the treasures from looting thieves
Gathered brush from by the stream
Each track I left I swept clean
Blowing winds blowing sands
Covered ruins sacred ground
Eons come eons go
Departed where left untold
Forty centuries winds drift and blow
Sand picked up sands laid low
Revelations from years ago
Their Spirits only – and I to know
