“Maestro”
by: Ron & Sheila RuizCall for price
Ron and Shelia, both natives of Southern California, married in 1984. They share a love of fine art. Their artistic backgrounds paralleled as they were both raised in families that provided a strong influence in art from a very young age.
Ron’s artistic talents run in the family; his mother worked as an artist for Warner Bros. and Hanna Barbera Studios. Although Ron initially worked in engineering design and drawing, manufacturing and graphics, he was excited to jump into an art career with his wife.
Sheila’s love for art was also inspired by her mother, who was a prolific and talented painter. Starting with “auditing” art classes with her mother as early as 8 years old, Sheila’s art training continued through her teens and early twenties with private art schools, University classes, and apprenticeships under well-known West Coast artists. Her extensive art education became a successful career in Marketing and Advertising. It wasn’t until her marriage to Ron that she considered becoming a professional fine artist.
The couple’s budding art career began with oil paintings, but quickly changed to sculpture as Ron and Sheila fell in love with the “hands-on” experience of working with clay. Limited edition bronzes soon followed, featuring the movement, grace and energy of the human figure and the natural world. From dancers to butterflies, Ron and Sheila finish each sculpture with colorful, luminescent patinas designed to enhance each composition and delight the senses.
Ron and Sheila’s work remains a collaborative effort where the two freely exchange ideas and a helping hand to each other’s creations. This spirit of sharing, attention to detail, and incredible talent, makes Ron and Sheila Ruiz’s works of art treasures to be enjoyed for many years to come!
Ron and Sheila Ruiz have won numerous awards in juried shows and have been featured in news articles and art publication. Their artwork is included in many corporate, motion picture, and sports celebrities’ private collections, including a commission for the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team!
