“Virtue”
There is a virtue in being alone
Some fear aloneness
As if it too closely mimics death
The truth is
Death so closely mimics no time to be alone
From aloneness comes the creative force
Out of loneliness God created man
So scribed the ancients
Out of loneliness man creates visions
And from these comes reality:
Concertos, ballads, paintings, sculptures,
Tools, cathedrals, order
While there is virtue in union
In collaboration
Some things must be done alone
There is virtue in being alone
